Centre Europeen de Recherche en Biologie et Medecine

The CERBM is a non-profit biomedical research organization funded and controlled by an alliance of French research agencies (CNRS and INSERM) and by the University of Strasbourg.

The Institut Clinique de la Souris (ICS) is part of the CERBM, under the direction of Dr Yann Hérault and is located between the University of Strasbourg’s southern campus and the Biotech Innovation Park, in Illkirch. The ICS is a member of the National INFRASTRUCTURE PHENOMIN for Biology and Health. The ICS contributes to the International Mouse Phenotyping consortium (IMPC) with the standardized phenotypic analysis of 250 mouse models for genes of interest and is a founding member of European Infrastructure INFRAFRONTIER.

The ICS has a strong expertise in generating and analyzing mouse models of human diseases with more than 1400 models delivered in the last 13 years. The ICS is equipped with integrated facilities for genetics, cellular and molecular biology, and notably for creation and characterization of genetically engineered mouse models and their phenotyping assessments.
